Middle Earth and Back Again ...

Having initially worked as a secondary school teacher in Ireland, Peter Dillon took a career break in 1998, which saw him variously trek the Himalayas to an altitude of 18,000 feet, teach scuba diving in the South China Sea, and further his study of Chinese Martial Arts in Malaysia and China.
Arriving in New Zealand he soon made the transition into stunt acting in 2001, on the pick-ups for "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy. He has since worked in seven different countries, and his credits include "The Chronicles of Narnia", "The Last Dual", "Vikings", "Penny Dreadful" "Dungeons and Dragons", "Valhalla" and James Cameron's "Avatar".
From January 2011 to August 2013, Peter worked as stunt double for the character, Balin, on "The Hobbit" trilogy, filmed in New Zealand. On completion, he returned to live in Ireland.

Since 2018, and with 35 years of experience behind him, Peter has been teaching Qigong and Traditional Chinese Martial Arts from his beautiful home in West Cork. Nestled between mountain and sea on the Wild Atlantic Way, he offers both day and residential retreats centered on Qigong and Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan.

Named Tearmann an Choill Bheag, or Santuary of the Little Forest, Peter's home brings together his Celtic heritage and his deep love of the Chinese art that he now passes on. Sanctuary it certainly is, and "Little Forest" is a direct translation of Shaolin, the heart of the art that Peter teaches. He says, "This place is my treasure chest, but the lid is open. Anyone who finds it, is welcome to share in the treasure."
